Minecraft problems?

After it offering to update to 1.2.5 (which I did) The screen then went completely black. I know I should look on the MC forum but I wanted to know if you had any of these issues.

I have not updated, not will I untill the server gets a good update too.

I looked it up and apparently everyone is having this problem. I would recommend not updating especially considering this bug doesn't go away when you backdate.
