Please help!!!

Can you guys help me? Whenever I try to log onto minecraft it always says I can't connect No matter what!

when that happens try going to minecraft.net to see if they are down.

I check every hour but It says nothing also this problem has been going on for about 2-3 weeks

what if your are banned from the server that might be the proplem

I'm not banned i can't even log in my charecter to the main screen all it says is


Cannot connect to minecrft.net

Try again

A similar problem happened to me a little while ago. Are you on a laptop? If so are you using wireless internet?

I am using wireless but i'm on a desktop i also recently updated to windows 7. Minecraft was fine for a week after i updated but then it messed up

have you moved anything like you router? I solved my problem by pointing the wireless signal emitter/receiver/ whatever its called in the direction of my router (the switch that turns wireless on &off), and once it connected to mc.net i put my laptop back to where it was(easier to do with a laptop obviously).

The only other thing i can think of is whether you have any programmes installed that create and use their own local network, hamachi being the most infamous example to minecrafters (I unistalled mine 3 times, each of which was after it began to screw with my internet).

Ok then sorry im out of suggestions . Only thing i can recommend now is to both wait for more replies and look around on the interwebs.

have you tryed redownloading minecraft?

If you can't connect to minecraft.net, it's either because your account isn't working correctly or possibly because of a connection issue.

I suggest you try updating your ethernet adapter and wireless card drivers first. Do this by clicking on the windows button, searching for 'device manager', opening the device manager and right clicking on the appropriate devices under 'network adapters' and selecting properties, then the 'driver' tab and updating or reinstalling the drivers. You can also get them from the manufacturers websites if you know the name of your wireless card.

You could also try logging on to your account from a friends house, or on a different internet connection. If it works, that rules out the possibility that it is a problem with the account itself. This would leave either your internet connection or Minecraft itself as the problem. You should try reinstalling Minecraft to rule out a problem with the program.

It might also be a firewall problem. Try turning Windows firewall off and see if that works, and turn off any third party firewall or anti-viral software you're running. If this works, you need to add the connection to minecraft.net to the firewall exceptions.

Failing all that, you need to contact Minecraft support and see if there's a problem with your account. If it's been hacked or the username and password stolen then that may be the cause, and they might have closed the account or suspended it.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Get back to us if you're still having issues.
