I require technical assistance..

My video card died a week or two back.. i'm currently on an emachine.. bleh bleh bleh..

Anyway, I am looking for a cheap (preferably less than $100) but effective (I want to continue playing video games) video card.. PCI Express is the kind that I need..

I have a few different ones lined up and was wondering if anyone could give me A) advice or B) suggestions..

Again, i'm not looking to spend a lot but I want to buy quality merchandise.. so if I can get some thoughts and suggestions, it'd be appreciated..

I got a few questions first, what type of monitor are you running (vga,hdmi,dvi)? Also do you have room in your case to house a double decker video card? An example of the double decker is the first link. Some cases have cooling ducts and other things that may block the path of inserting the card properly.

VGA I believe but I have an HDMI cable that I can connect to my TV so i'm open to that as well..

As far as my case.. it's fairly large, even with my old video card there was tons of room inside..

Well you have two options here. Link one is advertised as a silent card, basically its relies on just a heatsink to cool off so if you plan games for long periods of time on a regular basis there is a likelyhood it will over heat also with link one it has both an vga and hdmi port.
Link two has a fan which i like better for cooling off the card, its less likely too overheat assuming you have you fan speed set properly the thing with link two is it doesn't have a vga port so you would either have to use the hdmi on the tv, or look into buying a converter from hdmi to vga.

My monitor is VGA but i have an adapter that allows for VGA to become DVI.. so DVI, VGA, or HDMI none of that matters as I have methods to use all 3 if necessary...

I also have a secondary DVI monitor that allows for HDMI.. again though, none of that is an issue..

Clearly these ones are a bit more expensive, but the second link in that set would be your best option for a few reasons. It leaves you choices for your video output, it has higher core clock speeds than the others plus it looks awesome.

I took a rather large risk and spent more than I was planning to by a lot..
